Role: SAS Developer

Location: Halifax, CA (Remote)

Type: Contract

Role Overview:

• Seeking a highly skilled SAS Developer with strong Data Science capabilities to design, develop, and optimize data-driven solutions.
• This role combines advanced SAS programming with modern data science techniques to deliver actionable insights, predictive models, and robust analytics for business decision-making.

Day to Day job Duties:

SAS Development:

• Design, develop, and maintain SAS programs for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
• Create and optimize SAS macros, stored processes, and automated workflows.
• Ensure data integrity and compliance with organizational standards.

Data Science & Analytics:

• Apply statistical modeling, machine learning, and predictive analytics to solve business problems.
• Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) and feature engineering for model development.
• Build and validate models using Python/R alongside SAS tools.
• Interpret and present insights through dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
• Data Management:
• Work with large, complex datasets from multiple sources (structured and unstructured).
• Implement data quality checks and governance practices.
• Collaboration & Communication:
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Document processes, models, and workflows for transparency and reproducibility.

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in the required role with Strong proficiency in SAS Base, SAS Macro, SAS SQL, and SAS Enterprise Guide.
• Minimum 8+ Hands-on experience with Python or R for data science tasks.
• Minimum 8+ years of Knowledge of machine learning algorithms, statistical techniques, and predictive modeling.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Minimum 8+ years of Experience with large datasets, relational databases (SQL), and data warehousing concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Minimum 8+ years Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Degree: Bachelor s / master s degree in computer science, Statistics, Data Science, or related field.

Nice to Have; (But not a must):

• Experience in healthcare, finance, or insurance analytics.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark).
