Job Description

Manage the design aspect of the Midwest Manufacturing Truss department. This position will play a key role in developing and designing trusses. There are opportunities to enhance skills and advance your career by moving into further leadership positions within the Engineering departments at Midwest Manufacturing.

Primary Responsibilities

• Oversee entire design department
• Stay current on building codes, update the design system to reflect current codes
• Define and implement structural and truss designs
• Assist team members in resolving structural design problems that may arise on building projects
• Troubleshoot onsite expansion projects
• Optimize truss packages for production
• Monitor department and blueprint efficiency
• Minimize operating expense
• Other responsibilities as assigned by General Plant Manager

Required Qualifications

• Degree in one of the following or equivalent experience:
  • Marketing
  • Manufacturing Engineering
  • Business Administration / Management
  • Civil Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering / Technology
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Operations Management
• Exceptional guest service skills
• Strong project management skills
• Able to manage multiple concurrent activities
• Knowledge of MiTek or Simpson Software
• 2-5 years of experience designing trusses
• 5 years previous supervisory/ management experience
