Job Title: AVP, Product Owner - Investment Trading Technology
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid)
Duration: Full-time (Direct Hire)
Compensation: $145,000 - $190,000 annually + benefits
What You'll Do:
We are seeking an AVP, Product Owner to join the Investment Trading Technology (ITT) team at a global asset management firm. This role will serve as a liaison between investment teams and development, acting as product owner for both home-grown and vendor investment platforms. The ideal candidate will bring deep private credit/debt experience, including a solid understanding of deal lifecycle, deal stages, and how investments are tracked and managed from inception to holding.
In this highly collaborative role, you'll interface regularly with portfolio managers, investment analysts, and business partners, gathering business requirements, prioritizing development backlogs, and delivering scalable platform enhancements. You will work closely with a global technology team to streamline operations, uncover growth opportunities, and ensure solutions align with strategic goals.
What Gets You the Job:
- 8+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst within investment applications or trading platforms.
- Strong domain knowledge in private credit workflows, private debt lifecycle, deal structuring, and portfolio monitoring.
- Proven experience gathering and defining business requirements, writing detailed user stories/specifications, and driving product roadmaps and OKRs.
- Ability to interface with investment professionals, portfolio managers, and technology teams; act as the voice of the user.
- Expertise in deal workflow design, including deal tracking, deal lifecycle management, and post-investment monitoring.
- Experience working with investment and deal platforms, as well as portfolio management systems.
- Strong communication and documentation skills; ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with OMS tools such as Aladdin, Charles River, and applications for risk analytics, ESG, and investment research.
- Agile/Scrum experience with tools like JIRA and Confluence.
- Working knowledge of SQL; CFA or CAIA designation is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience supporting investment teams or middle-office stakeholders in a buy-side or private markets environment.
- Ability to define and prioritize product features, manage product lifecycle, and deliver value in iterative cycles.
- Analytical and proactive mindset with a strong attention to detail and operational efficiency.
